DOUBLES TO 20

We are beginning to learn our Doubles to 20.  Ms Ashby's maths class came over to Room 9 this morning and sung the Doubles song to help us learn them.  We are looking forward to learning them and seeing how much we can improve by next term.  Thanks Ms Ashby for playing the guitar.

Fun Day Friday!

We had such brilliant time during Developmental Time on Friday.  Prior to Developmental Time we watched the School Orchestra performing.  We thought it would be a great idea to make our own instruments.  Some of the children in Room 9 made amazing instruments.  Well done!

Buddy Time

Yesterday we spent some time with our wonderful buddy class - Room 23.  We used the laptops to learn lots of exciting programmes such as Kidpix and Photobooth.  We took some funny pictures of ourselves.  We can't wait until we meet up with our buddy class again!

Pizza Chefs

This term we have been learning to write instructions.  We have learnt that instructions need to be clear and written in steps that are numbered.  This means we can follow each step carefully.  We wrote our own instructions for making a pizza and on Tuesday we turned Room 9 into a Pizza Kitchen.  Thanks to Ella's Mum for helping us for the morning.  Have a look at our clip to see the steps we followed to make our pizza.  The pizzas were delicious and there was nothing to spare at the end!! Yum Yum!!

Hi there
I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful sunshine today and possibly playing outside or riding your bikes/scooters.  I went to the zoo with my children yesterday.  We thought the porcupines and the tigers were the best animals.  We also enjoyed feeding the giraffes and watching their big tongues lick the leaves off the branches.  I hope you have managed to have a look on the maths and literacy pages on our blog and played some of the games I have added.
Try and do some reading and keep behaving for your parents
Love
Mrs Allen x

Hello from Mrs Toohey!

Hello Fabulous Room 9
Mrs Allen and I had a chat today and she told me how wonderful you were during and after the earthquake.  I am so pleased everyone is okay and that you are safe and happy with your families.   I was at home with William when the earthquakes struck.  We both got under the table, along with Mrs Toohey's dog, Gordon.  We were worried, but thankfully everything was okay.  Poor Mr Toohey was up a ladder when the earthquake hit.  He had to hold on very tight to the entrance of the manhole in the roof!  Have a nice day home with your family and I will see you back at school when it is all checked and ready for us again.
Love Mrs Toohey

Jacob's day at home

What super photos of Jacob at his computer singing the phonics song and of him writing a fantastic story about going to his friends house .  Thanks for sending these in for our blog.

1000 + views

We are now over 1000 views on our blog - how exciting! Keep leaving comments so we can read what you are all doing!!

I thought this was a neat phonics song for you to watch and sing-along-to.  I will work on getting some more games on our Maths page today.   I hope you all had a big sleep and have a good day at home today!  Keep an eye on our page views - we are nearly up to 1000!!!  Love Mrs Allen x

Hi Room 9
I am so proud of you all today - you were so amazing and you all found me by the field so quickly.  Well done wonderful Room 9 children.  There will be no school tomorrow so keep checking the website for updates.  You could read some of your books from home and use the numbers we sent out last week to keep you busy.
My family are all at home and my children are happy to be sleeping in our lounge tonight.  Mrs Toohey is fine and happy to be with her family too!
Take care
Love Mrs Allen x x

Making a Jam Sandwich

This week we are learning to read and write instructions.  We chose a buddy to follow the instructions with and make our own jam sandwich.
We have even written the instructions out in steps ourselves!
The best part of all was eating the sandwich!!
