Holiday Fun

I hope everyone is having a fantastic holiday.  I love all the snow pictures.  Phoebe looks like she is having a fantastic time in the snow with her family.  Don't forget you can bring in some photos to school and we could make a COOL snow display.

Frosty the Snowman in Nelson

Wow what a magical Winterwonderland in the backyard this morning.  The children are so excited to be able to make snowmen and snowballs later this morning.  Send me any of your snow pictures or writing and I will post it on the blog for the other children to see.  Have lots of fun and keep warm!!!  Mrs Allen is meant to go to Queenstown tomorrow but I dont need to with the snow at my back door now!!!!

Disco Dancing

We still had some energy left after Clip 'n' Climb and our Shared Lunch for some, 'Disco Dancing'.  What a fantastic day we all had....................Mrs Toohey was very tired after school, were you?!

Clip 'n' Climb Fun!

We all had a fantastic time on our Big Day Out at Clip 'n' Climb.  It was amazing to watch the children climbing to great heights.  I was proud of how all the children tried their best and 'had a go'.  Thank you to all the parents that came to help.  I will show a slideshow of our trip before and after school if you would like to see more pictures.

Maths in Room 9

From Tallest to Smallest

For Maths this week we are focusing on Measuring length and looking at the Tallest to the Smallest.  We lined up the children in Room 9 according to our height.  We wonder where Hamish and Maggie will fit into our line as they were away today.

Harry's Hair

Come and have a look at our new display in the foyer to Room 8 and 9. Jane Buxton came and visited our classes and read us her brand new book called Harry's Hair. Room 8 and 9 think it is a fantastic book. Harry Brown won't brush his hair. First the birds move in, then a couple of lizards, some chinchillas and who knows what else? We enjoyed writing what can see in his hair and what the creepy crawlies might do in his hair.

Red and Black Day!

Room 9 looked awesome on Friday dressed in Red and Black.  Thank you for supporting our Canterbury team!  We all had a brilliant time doing Developmental with our Buddy Class on Friday.  The big buddies  took on a leadership role and supported our class in all the activities.  We did cooking, dress-ups, craft, construction, sports and sang some waiata together.  The whole school got together so that we could be filmed for TV1.  Exciting times!!

Kia Ora.  This week is Maori Language Week.  We are greeting our teacher, counting to 20 and learning some new phrases and songs in Maori.  Today we had some tamariki from Room 3 read us a big book in Maori.
Maybe you could ask how your whanau members are in Maori
Kei te pehea koe?.

You can answer by saying
Kei te pai ahau           I'm good
Kei te ngenge ahau    I'm tired
Kei te koa ahau          I'm happy
