Biscuit Decorating and Shared Lunch

Today Lauren and Melanie came in and decorated cupcakes and christmas biscuits with Room 9.  We had so much fun using the different icing, sprinkles and lollies to decorate them all.  In the afternoon we wrapped them up in little bags and put a christmas bell and stickers on.  I hope you all enjoyed eating and sharing your biscuits with your families.  Last week Loretta came in and made christmas cards with the children.  These looked so professional - thanks heaps Loretta and I hope the children have written in them for someone special!
A massive thank you from all of Room 9 to Lauren and Melanie for providing us with all the amazing goodies today and Loretta for the cards and craft things.
I would also like to thank all the parents for the gorgeous food for our shared lunch.  The children certainly had a good size lunch today and enjoyed eating the leftovers in the afternoon.  I hope they still ate their tea tonight!

We had a wonderful christmas party at Lucy's house on Sunday.  Santa arriving was just amazing and he even dished out some gifts to all the good wee children! On Monday we had a massive bouncy castle at our school.  What fantastic fun this was - some children in Room 9 went through 8 times!! Mrs Allen went through 3 times and I was tired! We have a couple more day left at school and we still have fun activities planned.  We hope you have enjoyed our blog.  Have a super Happy Christmas and a well deserved break for all!! xxx

Christmas Fun

Today Mrs Sutherland told Room 8 and 9 the story of Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer.  She told it to us orally - this means she didn't use a book, she spoke.  We made our own antlers and painted our button noses red! Too cute Room 9!

The Christchurch Show 9th November 2011

What an awesome time we all had at the Christchurch Show last Wednesday.  A massive thanks to our wonderful Mums who came on the trip - Loretta, Kylie, Anj, Lauren and Melanie.  You were fantastic! We saw so many amazing animals such as baby chicks, lambs, calves and ponies.  We were allowed to pat them and hold them.  Some of us had a turn at shearing a pretend sheep and some of us saw a baby lamb being born.  After lunch we headed over to the tractors and machinery and we were allowed to ride on these massive vehicles.   At the end of the day we watched the popsicle band and then it was time to hop back on the bus.  Three children from Room 9 had a wee snooze on the way back to school.  What a fun day had by all!!

Term 4 begins!

We have had a fantastic start to Term 4.  This term we will be looking at our school values and learning lots of fun, creative and new ideas related to our 7 values.
Today Onnah and her Mum Lauren shared Bernies adventures up in Northland.  Bernie was lucky to go to the Rugby World Cup semi final with Onnah's Dad and they even went right to the very top of New Zealand. We learnt that the top of New Zealand is called Cape Reinga.  Lauren read us a strory about how the Kiwi lost his wings and she also talked to us about the massive Kauri tree called Tane Mahuta in the Waipoua Forest.  We made our own beautiful Kiwi birds.  Mrs Allen used to live up in Dargaville and knows and loves Northland! Thanks for coming in and teaching us today Lauren!
